Youth Ministries

ministries_youth

The Youth group of Memorial is an exciting and caring group. They are very active in spiritual retreats and mission opportunities. There are retreats to the beach in the Fall and Spring, an annual trip to Awanita Wilderness Retreat Center, a ski trip in the winter, and other recreational and spiritual trips throughout the year. During the summer, the youth are involved in a mission trip where they help other communities with everything from construction to leading VBS. We have worked on Indian Reservations in South Dakota and Montana, houses in Lancaster, SC and with underprivileged kids in Tampa, FL just to name a few.

The Youth programming on Sunday and Wednesday nights is centered around interactive and thought-provoking scripture lessons with games, fellowship, and praise as well. For more information about our youth group contact Andy Watson at bullboy81@hotmail.com.

Youth-LogoMemorial Youth Mission Statement

First, and foremost, we are followers of Christ who are aware of our sinfulness and have placed our faith in Jesus Christ and are in the process of giving him control of our lives.  We are a group of teenagers who come from different social groups, schools, and denominations; yet, we find unity and support within the larger group.  Through weekly activities, various retreats, and annual mission trips, we spend time in prayer, praise, Bible study, and fellowship in order to cultivate our spiritual maturity and the love we share for one another. As the members of the Memorial Youth we should symbolize the epitome of the tight-knit, compassionate, and inspirational youth group. Our mission is to spread the Word of God and the love of Christ to others.  We seek to do so out of a genuine love for all people. We all have our talents, whether they are musical, artistic, or just an ability to connect with others, whatever it is; we are all called to use it to share the Word. We are welcoming to all visitors and hope to go above and beyond to make everyone in our group feel encouraged and comfortable.  We do not seek to impose our beliefs on others, but rather wait and watch for opportunities to share our experience and knowledge of Jesus Christ.  We have been blessed by God in so many ways, and we desire to bring others into a relationship with him that is real and filled with love.  God gives us a love that is true, deep, and everlasting, and through our multi-faceted group we hope to share this love with all those whom we come into contact.
